SafeLists, are comprised of a set of members who agree to receive emails from other people, and NOT report these emails as SPAM to any ISP.
This is important, as it is so easy now to be banned from accessing the Internet, or sending emails to other servers, due to a few complaints about
SPAM (or Unsolicited Comercial Email, UCE)
Why would you need a safelist?
In order to advertise your site/scheme/ezine to others, so increasing exposure that may otherwise be lacking, if relying on search engine ranking.
The sad fact is that by definition, of the BILLIONS of WebPages/sites out on the Internet, most will never be seen by a search on any search engine,
given that over 90% of searchers never go past page 3 of the search results, and nobody wades through thousands of pages just to find the 90% of
obscure sites. These figures are estimates from what I have read on the Internet, they may need refining later.
The sites listed are ones that allow FREE membership to start with. It is then up to you to decide if you ever want
to pay for an upgrade. The upgrade features may be that you can email every few hours or once a day, instead of
every 2/3/5/7 days. It often has the added advantage that you do not have to be swamped by the emails from FREE members.
Not every Safe List will allow these free email accounts to be used, but a majority do. The better run ones with advanced
scripts just put your account on hold for a couple of hours then test to see if the email account bounces again.
Less sophisticated safelists just delete you membership after (say) 10-15 bounces. Hence join free at first, see what
happens and how you are treated, before risking paying for an upgraded account that you may lose almost immediately
if Hotmail or Yahoo start returning some emails (they seem to do so at random, quite often) to the safelist server.

Note that The Perceptual Safelist is now CaeserList on planetxmail, so link removed from here.
Pity, I recruited a lot for them. This is one of the hazards of safelists, they sometimes vanish or
get taken over by another owner, who then changes the rules or deletes old member's accounts.

The latest flavour of the month safelists to join are Babara Deanne's lists.
She seems very capable and caring, and is offering some free upgrades at present.

If you do start as a free member (and do not join any SUBMITTERS) then you will like the hints that I give on this page
Safe-Lists Hints
The safelists above are all that remain of the ones I used to link to here, and have been around for years, so I trust them, more than many of the new ones.
SAFE-LISTS SUBMITTERS
Safelist Submitters. These normally allow you to join up to many lists at once.
You still often have to manually verify each account by clicking on the verification email, but some submitters
actually have automatic validator software that will answer the emails for you, so long as you enter the POP3 mailbox parameters correctly so allowing it
access to your mailbox.
One safelist submitter is that from Snazzy. It does not handle all of the safelists, but it is still useful in saving you time. It is one of the
class of DESKTOP SUBMITTERS.
Snazzy Promotions free submitter I use their professional version that you
have to pay for.
What is the difference between a DESKTOP SUBMITTER and a WEB BASED one?
The code for the desktop submitter runs on your machine, so uses your system resources.
The web based submitter uses the server that the owner uses to host his scripts, and this reduces the strain on your
connections, and importantly for the submitter seller, also prevent some of the code theft that happens when they sell a desktop submitter.
Lastly, if you want to search for other sites about
safelists, feel free to use this search box.
